The 40 Rabbana Duas are a collection of Qur’anic supplications that begin with the words “Rabbana” (رَبَّنَا), meaning “Our Lord.” These powerful duas appear throughout the Qur’an, spoken by prophets, righteous believers, and communities of faith in moments of repentance, gratitude, hardship, and hope.

Because they are taken directly from the Qur’an, the Rabbana duas are among the most authentic and comprehensive supplications in Islam. They ask Allah ﷻ for forgiveness (maghfirah), guidance (hidayah), patience (sabr), protection from sin (‘ismah), mercy (rahmah), and ultimate success (falah). Together, they form a complete spiritual framework for seeking closeness to Allah.

Muslims across the world memorize and recite these Qur’anic duas in Salah, during Qunoot, in Ramadan, at Hajj, and in times of personal need. By using the very words revealed in the Qur’an, believers strengthen their connection with Allah ﷻ and align their supplications with divine guidance.

Below, you will find all 40 Rabbana Duas in Arabic, with clear transliteration and English translation, making them easy to read, memorize, and reflect upon.

FAQs — Rabbana Duas

Rabbana duas are special because they are directly revealed in the Qur’an. Each one begins with “Rabbana” (Our Lord), showing humility and dependence on Allah ﷻ. These duas cover life’s essential needs—forgiveness, mercy, protection, sustenance (rizq), and guidance in faith. Because they come straight from revelation, they are authentic and timeless prayers every Muslim can rely on.
Yes. Rabbana duas can be recited in prayer (salah)—especially in sujood (prostration), during qunūt in Witr, or after tashahhud before the closing taslīm. Since they are Qur’anic duas, scholars have always encouraged them in salah. Using them in prayer makes worship more heartfelt, connecting a believer’s devotion with the very words of Allah.
The 40 Rabbana duas are not found as one complete set in hadith. Instead, they appear across many surahs of the Qur’an, each revealed in its own context. Later, scholars gathered them into a single collection so Muslims could memorize and use them easily. The number 40 itself carries meaning in Islam—appearing in Prophetic traditions, spiritual disciplines, and maturity at age forty—but this compilation is a helpful scholarly effort, not a prophetic instruction.
There is no fixed order. You can recite Rabbana duas as they appear in the Qur’an or choose according to your needs—seeking forgiveness, asking for rizq, or praying for family and faith. What matters most is sincerity (ikhlās), humility (khushū‘), and trust in Allah (tawakkul). In Islam, it is the heart’s intention that matters more than the order of words.
